I am ordering one for my car today. I bought this for my husband(he's the Tekkie in the family)and he loves it.
Also, being able to charge the speakerphone with car adapter ensures I'll never be without a hands-free device. The speakerphone is very easy to power on and off, and it is very easy to answer incoming calls. The T505 easily attaches to the visor and is very securely attached. After using the T505 for a month I highly recommend it. I've not used the speakerphone for transmitting music through my car's audio system as I have no need for that function. This is a product that performs as advertised and I heartily recommend it. No longer do I have to drive with the "thing" in my ear. It was extremely easy to set up and it easily recognized my Blackberry 8330. The loudest volume on the T505 allows me to easily converse on my phone even while driving on noisy highways.
I got the replacement and it is now working fine.I like it. I had to return product and have it exchanged for a new one.
I tried the hands-free phone call ability with a friend, and it works great. Supposedly, you can skip tracks using the + and - buttons on the unit, but they don't seem to have any effect.
Thinking I might have had a bad unit, I returned it for another one, and the same issue. I can pause and play music, but not change tracks.
I have the newest iPhone (the 3GS), and was eager to use this with the T505. Basically, the iPhone talks to the T505 wirelessly over bluetooth, and the T505 broadcasts audio to your car stereo using the FM transmitter. One problem I have is that I can't skip song tracks using the T505.
My kludgy workaround right now is to simply shake my iPhone when I want to go to the next song (this is a feature of the 3.0 software), but there is no easy way to go back a track. If anyone has figured out a way to get track skipping to work, I'd love to know how. Pairing was effortless--you don't even have to enter a PIN code to pair the iPhone with this device.
I was also delighted to be able to play all my music over my car stereo using the FM transmitter capability.
The T505 even works well in the city. I've tried several FM transmitters for my Insignia Pilot MP3 player. The bluetooth connection with the Pilot is not as consistent but I've found all bluetooth devices to be temperamental. It's a great device for the money and certainly beats buying a bluetooth equipped stereo system for the car. This unit paired quickly with my HTC Touch smart phone and recognizes it was soon as I power up. None of them were adequate. So far, so good.
